O.k. - Here is a post inviting comment. I was watching Star Wars again and My Geek Mind got to working - here is my question:
Was Anakin Skywalker created by Darth Sidious?
Here are the facts:
Anakin was created by midiclorians - there was no father. In Episode III, Palpatine tells the story of Sidious' Sith Mentor . . . Darth Plagueis. According to Palpatine Plageuis was such a powerful Sith Lord that he could manipulate life itself. Sidious killed Plageuis and became a Sith Lord.
Palpatine also manipulated Anakin and he never was completely honest with him, even after Anakin became Darth Vader. For example, Palpatine told Vader that Vader killed Padme. He was partially honest but always holding something back. Thus, Palpatine was only being partially honest when he said he had not learned Plageuis' powers before killing him. Is it possible he had actually learned those powers so that he manipulated life to create his ultimate apprentice - Anakin?

And - for an opinion I would have to ask the other nerds; James & Terry.
This is the MAJOR question now isn't it. Conversly, is Anakin the one to bring balance to the force? How does the sith creation of Anakin come into play in that? Did Anakin bring balance to the force? What is balance? Does that mean no evil sith or just a balance of dark and light forces?
If does mean that the sith were part of a "balance" does that mean the Sith bring balance to the force and not the Jedi?
Also: You're right Darth Sidious hints that a sith lord (himself or his master?) could manipulate and create life. He was in control of Anakin's fate (or so it seemed) all along. I think you post valid questions and no I don't think you are a nerd.
I like to think that Anakin was created by the sith but it backfired on them and caused "balance to the force" and that the jedi (aka Yoda) forsaw all of it. Not Mace, though...
I think you need a life! I can't even keep my own family's activites straight - who has time for pretend people?

I just read that Anakin is recognized by George Lucas as the chosen one. Puts a spin on things doesn't it?

No, I've just had a lot of in late night conversations with friends. Star Wars happens to be a popular subject with my friend Genevieve. I think we were just lusting after Darth Vader Episode III, to be honest. Anything to steer from the conversations of work and children (which is our normal affair). Spices things up and makes us remember there are things out there to talk about which are purely in fun :)
Here is what another friend of mine had to say about the subject - intelligent people sharing intelligent thoughts:

All the facts point to Lucas at least wanting you to draw that conclusion.
The other possibility of course is that he just boned Anakin’s mom when she used to work at a stripper in Mos Eisley and they were both drunker than hell.

As for the Packers - no matter what the Bengals are able to do in the single season - they will never live up to being America's true team. The Bengals never sold out Tempe Stadium for an Arizona Cardinals game.
Sorry guys - although we own them all on DVD I think I stopped watching after Harrison Ford left. Its not my thing.
But speaking of the Bengels, I was happy to see Carson performing so well. I like Brett but I am confused, he said that this is the most talented team he ever played with nut they might not win any games this year. Huh?
