I'm One Month Old Today

Aaron is one month old. It's hard to believe that much time has already passed. He had his 1 month checkup on Monday. All looks good. He now weighs 8 lbs 13 oz & is 21 1/4 inches. No shots were given, but he'll have five next month. :( Not looking forward to that. We set up his new Rainforest Activity gym. Right now Patrick seems more interested in it! Aaron did last a few minutes though.

Happy Mother's Day

We hope all the moms had a fabulous day. I truly am blessed with two precious boys. I couldn't ask for a better gift than that!Grandma and Aaron.
Nana and the boys.
Nana, Angie, Dobby (aka Grandma Saniter), & Grandma with the cake from Baskin Robbins. Yummy! We all had a steak dinner at my parents' house. Mel coordinated the dinner with some help from the guys. Thank you, it was wonderful.

Mother's Day at the Zoo

The baby orangutan and her Mom. A very neat sight on Mother's Day.
Grandma Obert, Patrick, Angie, and Aaron at the Phoenix Zoo.

They had a Mother's Day breakfast that morning sponsored by a local grocery store. They were supposedly able to feed 500. When we arrived we stood in line and then realized that it truly went on FOREVER. We weren't near the 500 mark I guess, but the line didn't move quickly so we decided it wasn't really worth it. We visited the animals and had a snack. We arrived about 9am and left around 1pm. It was a very nice morning. It really wasn't getting too hot until we were getting ready to leave. Then the heat was a little intense as it was over 100 degrees!
A view from inside the zoo.
Aaron's first visit at the zoo at almost one month old. He is "wearing" the hat that Patrick wore his first trip to the zoo, although he was 3 months old then and it fit a bit better.

Patrick got to play in the water area. He certainly had a good time.

Cactus Kids - It's Time for a Rodeo!

Patrick took Cactus Kids with Miss Kathi at the McQueen Park Activity Center this session. They studied desert plants and animals, read stories, made crafts, and got to be cowboys. On their last day, they all got to wear their "cowboy" outfits and made s'mores. They all had their horses too and parked them at the garbage can corral. They were all so cute. Even Aaron went along and wore his own cowboy outfit!

Three Weeks Old Today!

Brothers hanging out on the floor. Patrick just adores him. He is always wanting to give him kisses and touch him. Just wish he'd be a little bit more gentle. It's great that he loves him so much!
Hanging out on the floor with a gift from Aunt Katy.
Spending time with Grandma.
Aaron is 3 weeks old today. Wow, how he has grown and changed in that time. We are so blessed to have such a wonderful baby boy as well as a great 4 year old. To celebrate his 3 weeks of life, Aaron received his first "real" bath. This was the first since his umbilical cord fell off. He wasn't too sure he liked it much. Hopefully that will change in time. We also went out for lunch to Crackers and Co. He slept the whole time. I locked us out of the house (forgot my keys on the table after the AC guy was here) so thank goodness Papa had his keys with him and was willing to come and unlock the door. Thank you Papa! :)
I'm sure he's thinking "thank goodness it's all over!"

Growing and Changing Day by Day

Aaron having some "tummy time" and he's much more alert. Doesn't mind so much being on the floor for short amounts of time.
Papa and the boys.
In his froggy outfit with his froggy stuffed toy. He's too cute!
The swing is certainly a favorite place for Aaron to be. He spends a lot of the time during the day there. Here he is with his panda from China that Grandpa sent.
Aaron with Dr. Lino Ossanna. He is the OB/GYN that delivered him. He really did a super job. I am very pleased with him!

What's Patrick up to??

Patrick and Grandma in the hot tub. Daddy gave him permission to go in and now it's an almost daily ritual. Patrick thinks it's his own little "pool" in the backyard. He certainly has a good time. Often times he is Peter Pan and Grandma is Captain Hook. :) Grandma is a good sport about it all!

Here is Patrick in his Igloo tent. He thinks it's pretty neat that he can fit inside and lay down. Could probably even sleep in it.
Here he is sporting his new pjs that Grandpa sent him from China. They are pretty cool and look good on him. He had to wear them right after they were washed eventhough it was a bit too warm for long sleeves and pants!

More of Aaron...

A little "tummy time" on the Boppy. Even his eyes are open!
After the first sponge bath at home. He wasn't very thrilled to say the least. Maybe he'll like an actual bath better.

Trying out the swing. It seems to be a success. Kept him quiet and sleeping for awhile which meant he wasn't eating!

It's Good to be Home

Aaron is glad to be home. So far the new bouncy seat is a success!
Badger was a little wild initially. He had to smell Aaron and give him numerous kisses. Not sure what he really thinks yet.
Patrick and Aaron watching "Star Wars."
Good night my sweet boy! Time for bed in your cradle on your first night at home. Patrick slept in that cradle as well. It belonged to my Great Grandfather. We are hoping for another good night of sleeping. Just like last night would be great.

Going Home!

It was time to go home today. Aaron had his circumcision this morning and had his discharge papers ready to go by 11am. It took longer for my discharge to get ready. In fact, the Dr. was supposed to come at 12:30 and didn't show til 1:30. That meant we finally left the hospital around 2:30. We were all ready to go home. Both Patrick and Aaron slept on the way home. His first car ride was rather uneventful.

Introducing Aaron Michael Obert

Aaron Michael was born Tuesday, April 17th at 7:29am at the Chandler Regional Hosptial in Chandler, AZ. He was 7 lbs 9 oz and 21 inches. Mom and baby are doing well so far. The c-section went smoothly. Big brother, Patrick, isn't quite sure what to think, but was very willing to hold him. Due to limited connection we are only able to attach this one photo for now. Stay tuned for further updates.

My Baby Brother

Patrick had to touch and kiss his baby brother. He is still determined that his name should also be "Patrick." Soon, you will all know. Stay posted as C-section day is quickly approaching!

Easter

Patrick woke up and crawled into our bed and immediately asked if the Easter Bunny had come. Needless to say we were on a hunt before 7am! He found all his "goodies" in the house and then headed outside for his egg hunt. The Easter Bunny was good to him, that's for sure. We then colored eggs and got ready for church. Later on in the afternoon we headed to my parents' house for Easter dinner. The Easter Bunny had come there as well. Patrick was one lucky kid. A bike and wagon were waiting in the yard along with candy etc.

Please Pray for a Hero

A very good friend, Mike Schlitz, was seriously injured this past week while serving with the Army in Iraq. We are very proud of you Mike and love you lots! You are strong, so keep on fighting. Please keep Mike and his family in your prayers as his recovery will not be an easy one.
